Sprachskepsis

Manchmal bin ich stolz auf mich

und erzähle es meinen Freunden.

Dann komme ich mir vor

wie die Fassade eines alten Hauses

die den Vorübergehenden viel anbietet,

hinter der aber verstecken sich

nur einige Stücke wertloser Möbel.

K B Purcell – Facade – Sprachskepsis

 Sometimes I’m proud of myself

And tell it to all my friends.

Suddenly I resemble

The façade of an old house

Promising treasures to passers-by

Behind whose empty windows lie

Nothing more than a few sticks

Of worthless furniture.
